Tips to Eliminate Your Golf Slice
Here is some good advice to help you get rid of you golf slice. Best of all it is very simple once you get the hang of it, and why it is used to correct your swing.
Most likely you have been faced with a slice problem at some time of your golfing days. To be completely direct with you, correcting a slice really is a pain. It hurts your golf game in more ways than one. Fortunately, it is fairly easy to correct. I cannot say that this small tip will completely cure in it completely on it's own, but there are good chances that it will. I hope so.
Firstly, please understand that when it enters the impact zone, there's really only important two factors that determine the "shape" of ball flight.
1. The angle of the clubface at impact.
2. The direction the club is taking at impact.
Therefore, here are some things you should concentrate.
Try to keep your leading shoulder "low" on the ball thru impact. This is called staying strong during ball impact. Several times, the attack shoulder (left shoulder if right handed) rises up before club head impact. If you can visualise this, think about what that will do to the club head when in the impact zone.
Leaving the computer for a moment, go try out the same movements slowly. If you let your leading rise on the approach of the impact and you really can feel and see the clubface coming from an outside to in path. This is what is causing you slice you need to correct.
See, golf is all about thinking and analyzing your improvement plans. Much of this game is to understand the "why" is to achieve a particular result, and the physics behind this result. Thinking through your golf swing will create huge dividends if you're willing to invest the time it takes.
What can you do to correct that rising shoulder? Well, to start, try to learn to keep the shoulder a strong leader. Keep that shoulder "Down" on the ball all the way through impact, even after the ball impact and ball flying down the fairway.
Therefore, after the main impact the shoulder is still weak or down. The angles between your shoulders and chest is still the same. More importantly, the body did not show in front of the the hands. It is a huge difference. As you will see, the left shoulder is actually higher than the right shoulder. So what do I mean when I say "shoulder down"? You need to think about looking back down on the ball. When I say "down", I mean that the head of the shoulder and chest is still facing the ball at impact.
So while it may seem like the leading shoulder is higher than the shoulder behind the ball, it is still facing the ball at impact. Not toward third base, relative to the ball. If the front shoulder is facing the third base at impact, which means that the left front shoulder has been allowed to rise up.
In addition, the hand action is very important in this game and will need to learn to release your hands correctly through the ball. This means that you release the hands while the leading shoulder is still "down" or off the ball.

The key is to let your arms release through the ball, while the left shoulder is "Down" on the ball. To do this, you will have to be able to rotate the forearms and also use the leading elbow as like a hinge (not shoulder). Therefore another way to explain this movement is that the hands are always moving toward the desired tarket, but his leading elbow has almost stopped.
Remember to always keep your leading shoulder down and let the arms and hands release through the ball and you will see the ball go farther and higher. It will take some getting used to,habits are hard to change, but once you get the hang of it and it clicks, the results are exceptional.
