Best travel agency or tourist company or a monastery that offers spiritual retreats in India?
I love to travel in India for approx. 3-4 weeks for a spiritual retreat, preferably with a guru / guide to help me on this trip (someone to guide me spiritually). I am interested in staying in a monastery, as the Pemayangtse Monastery - 1 days in Gangtok, Sikkim. I also spend time in Varansi, Dharamasala and Hardiwar. I am not interested in one of those trips where people spend 1 day in one place and spend the next morning, when I spend time in one place, and not simply a tourist classic. I am looking for an authentic experience. Also, I must travel alone, so we need a agency that will provide a guide of some sort, because they have not traveled alone before. Does anyone have any recommendations? Any information on the monasteries that accept student of spirituality for periods of time (probably in exchange for money and some work in the monastery)? I'm looking for tips, advice and very open to feedback!
